Shelia M. Dewitt Ellis

Shelia M. Ellis, 51, of Waynesburg, Pa. formerly of Greensboro, Pa., passed away in her home on Monday, March 31, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 25, 1973 in Morgantown, W.Va., the daughter of the late Jack and Georgia (Conard) Jones.

Shelia was a graduate of Mapletown High School.  She served as a Postmaster at Garards Fort for many years.   As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Shelia never passed on the opportunity to let her family know how much she loved them.  Her grandchildren were the absolute light of her life.

Surviving are her husband, Michael L. Ellis, Sr.; a son, Patrick E. Coger (fiancée Talia) of Waynesburg; four stepchildren, Nicholas J. Coger of Waynesburg, Michael L. Ellis, Jr. (fiancée Emily) of Masontown, Pa., Nicole M. Zywicki (David) of Marianna, Pa., and Candice L. Ellis (fiancé Steve) of Masontown; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Jeff Jones (Gloria) of Greensboro and John DeWitt of Smithfield, Pa.; three sisters, Kathy Potts of Winchester, Va., Brenda DeWitt of Apex, N.C., and Amy Diane Henry of Stephens City, Va.

Along with her parents, Shelia is preceded in death by her son, Denzil Coger; three brothers, Daniel E. DeWitt, James DeWitt and Casey Jones and a sister, Sharon Shuckhart.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa., where the funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, April 4, 2025.

Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa.
